The Serra de Montsant experienced on October 11th, an unforgettable day with the celebration of the 16th edition of the Otso Ultra Trail Serra de Montsant – Costa Daurada, an event already established as one of the most emblematic trail running races in Catalonia. Starting and finishing in Ulldemolins, the event brought together more than half a thousand runners in an incredible natural setting, combining sport, nature, and a great atmosphere.
The weather accompanied throughout the day, with pleasant temperatures and a clear sky with a few clouds for most of the day. Only at midday did a light rain appear, adding an epic touch to the closing of the competition.
A day full of sport and perseverance
Unlike previous editions, this year all distances were held today, Saturday, concentrating the excitement and activity into a single day. From the early hours of the morning, the streets of Ulldemolins filled up to kick off the first start of the day: the UTSM 63 km and the Marathon-MSM44 km. Afterwards, three more races followed: the 25 km, the 11 km (run and trek mode), and finally, the 7 km.
The courses took participants through the most emblematic landscapes of the area. The Serra de Montsant offered spectacular views, with a route known for its toughness and technical trails.
